Island Foundation is seeking writers who can contribute original art or editorial material in the following areas.

• the convergence of computers with multimedia, VR and the Web the "cyberculture"
• new perspectives on the psychedelic experience and alternative realities
• leading-edge science including chaos theory, the "new physics" and nanotechnology
• new brain technologies, and maps of the mind
• methods of increasing intelligence
• ancient studies of spirituality, shamanism and tribal cultures as they are applied to modern culture
• the new youth culture
• the study of intentional communities and communes

Of course, we are open to any original ideas or topics you might like to share with us.

Editorial Submission Instructions

We prefer to work with material that is submitted in an electronic format. The best way to make sure we see anything you submit is to send it by e-mail to: submissions@mindmedia.com.

Please include the word SUBMISSION in the subject line of your message. You can either send us text directly from your e-mail editor, or attach a file formatted in either ASCII (text), Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, or RTF (preferred).
We will comment directly on queries or submissions sent by e-mail.

Please include your address and phone number with all submissions. We will not respond to an unsolicited submission unless we want to use it or unless it is accompanied by a self-addressed-stamped-envelope (SASE). We will not be held responsible for returning unsolicited material, so please don't send your only copy of something.

Notification and Payment

If we would like to print your submission, we will send notification of acceptance along with a contract either by e-mail or snail mail. Since we are a small publication, payment for published full-length articles is 5 copies of the magazine or a free subscription. We only ask for one-time printing rights, and once the article is published, all rights revert back to the author(s).
